President Donald Trump has officially signed an executive order to create a US Digital Asset Stockpile that will include crypto tokens.

The executive order was filed on January 23, 2025. Info related to the crypto stockpile and what would be included in such a stockpile (stablecoins & crypto) were posted on the White House website.

According to the White House, the “potential creation” of a digital asset stockpile will be managed by a presidential Working Group, chaired by the AI and Crypto Czar.

Strategic US Digital Asset Stockpile is a reality, led by Crypto Czar

According to the White House, the new US Digital Asset Stockpile will be made up of cryptocurrencies lawfully seized by the Federal Government.

The document does not mention Bitcoin (BTC) but implies multiple cryptocurrencies would be included in the stockpile, meaning cryptocurrencies chosen for the stockpile will be strategically picked by the Crypto Czar.

David Sacks was appointed as Donald Trump’s Crypto Czar before taking office. David Sacks was chosen for his knowledge of digital assets, and cryptocurrencies and his entrepreneurial background being the former COO of Paypal.

From the White House on the Crypto Czar’s role, referred to in the document as ‘Special Advisor for AI and Crypto (Chair)”:

There is hereby established within the National Economic Council the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets (Working Group).  The Working Group shall be chaired by the Special Advisor for AI and Crypto (Chair).

Which cryptocurrencies will be included in Trump’s US Digital Asset stockpile?

The document further indicated that The Working Group, led by the Crypto Czar in collaboration with other governmental entities including the Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of Commerce, will evaluate stablecoins.

From the White House:

The Working Group shall propose a Federal regulatory framework governing the issuance and operation of digital assets, including stablecoins, in the United States.  The Working Group’s report shall consider provisions for market structure, oversight, consumer protection, and risk management.

With “cryptocurrencies” mentioned, investors are wondering which cryptocurrencies will be included in the US  Digital Asset Stockpile.

It would be fair to assume that regulated, non-controversial cryptocurrencies would be included such as Circle’s USDC stablecoin, Bitcoin, and possibly Ethereum.

Altcoins that do not have any impending governmental lawsuits or court cases that have already been considered for institutional ETFs include: Solana, Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR), and Litecoin (LTC).

Ripple’s XRP is still in the midst of a battle with the SEC, but with Gary Gensler finally out, the new SEC chairperson, Paul Atkins, may very well dismiss XRP’s case, allowing them to operate without regulatory oppression.

It’s safe to assume that cryptocurrencies with existing ETF submissions and crypto that have not been scrutinized by the former SEC under Gary Gensler may automatically be considered by David Sacks, the current Crypto Czar of the White House.
