Hedera Hashgraph’s partnership with SEALSQ could mean Hedera’s blockchain network may be used in national defense measures to stop quantum threats.

In a recent SEALSQ report on post-quantum cybersecurity, the firm highlighted that one of their collaborators, AgEagle, a drone operator, was chosen by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for solutions.

With Hedera working in collaboration with SEALSQ, the Hedera network may be utilized in assisting US DOD operations and tasks via related industry connections.

Hedera Hashgraph x SEALSQ: A pact to develop quantum-resistant solutions

SEALSQ and their partner, AgEagle, have been selected by the US Department of Defense for their UAV solutions that meet “rigorous demands”.

According to SEALSQ, a SEALSQ Secure Element has been implemented into AgEagle’s drones, providing end-to-end encryptions that abide by the US’s strict cybersecurity regulations.

It’s been confirmed that the Hedera DLT was chosen by SEALSQ to help develop next-generation quantum-resistant solutions for cybersecurity purposes.

Hedera Hashgraph’s collaboration with SEALSQ will allow the company to develop quantum-resistant solutions to defend against quantum threats and potential attacks that could weaken national defenses.

Hedera’s DLT may also be used to provide secure communications and relay data to and from multiple entities, protected from quantum threats.

In a recent speech at NASDAQ’s closing bell, SEALSQ x WISeKey CEO Carlos Moreira took to the podium to urge investors to take cybersecurity seriously as quantum-computing applications are being developed at Google and IBM.

For Hedera, SEALSQ’s quantum-resistant chips will ensure the Hedera network is quantum-ready and able to defend itself against any future cryptographic threats.

HBAR in crypto as of late

In recent months, the Hedera Foundation has promised to push for greater decentralized financial avenues on Hedera with a new dApp fund and opportunities for developers.

Most recently, Hashport, a DeFi bridge on Hedera, reported that they had successfully bridged over $500 million in assets from multiple blockchain ecosystems.

In Q4 2025, Novatti reported that Hedera, Ripple, and XDC have been chosen to facilitate the launch of an Australian stablecoin for cross-border transactions. With greater use cases on the way, HBAR investors are expecting much from Hedera’s native token.
