Gravity Blockchain joins Chainlink
As a layer 1 blockchain network, Gravity boasts a 1 Gigagas per second throughput delivering fast processing speeds and scalability, allowing Gravity to run demanding dApps.
The network is marketed as a high-powered, super fast network for mass adoption by traders, developers and the average user. The network’s AptosBTF consensus mechanism uses Byzantine Fault Tolerance that allows the network to operate even when validators are not active.
Galaxy’s native G token is used to fund transaction fees, participate in governance decisions in the DAO, and for staking purposes to help secure the network and bring about decentralization.
An upgrade from LayerZero to LINK
The reasons for Gravity’s sudden switch to Chainlink are unknown, but respective communities believe LINK offers stronger, more reliable security compared to LayzerZero which may offer greater speed when it comes to blockchain interoperability and cross-chain interactions.

In the past, LayerZero came under fire by Nomand, a cryptocurrency bridge competitor that has since shutdown, that LayerZero covered up backdoor vulnerabilities in their code.
According to LayerZero, there was no cover-up and the backdoors were known to the public if they went looking for that information.
Gravity on making the switch to LINK CCIP:
We’re excited to announce that Gravity will upgrade from LayerZero to the Chainlink standard for secure cross-chain interoperability for the launch of its layer-1 blockchain.
With this upgrade, CCIP will serve as Gravity’s canonical cross-chain infrastructure. This shift is designed to enhance Gravity’s security posture and enable greater capabilities within the multi-chain ecosystem.
