Bitcoin ETFs are the best performing ETFs in history with $44 billion in inflows over the past year to date and beating weekly records.
According to Balchunas, HBAR, XRP, and Solana ETFs can be expected once the new SEC chairperson, Paul Atkins, takes the helm officially.Â
HBAR and Litecoin (LTC) among new ETF bets
Eric Balchunas believes Ethereum and Bitcoin joint ETFs will be on the cards to be the first newly approved of 2025 following Litecoin (LTC) and Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR). The reasons for HBAR and Litecoin are that they have both never been considered securities. Under the hood, Litecoin is a fork of Bitcoin.
Hedera Hashgraph is one of the most industry-compliant altcoins on the market with partnerships and collaborations with institutions and investment interests from global businesses due to HBAR’s exploration of real-world asset tokenization and sustainability causes.Â
Following HBAR and Litecoin would possibly be Ripple’s XRP and Solana. Both tokens have been called securities and both hold pending lawsuits, with XRP’s being the most televised.Â
Ripple XRP and Solana on the path to ETF approval
Investors and analysts believe the new SEC chairperson, Paul Atkins, will dismiss lawsuits against tokens considered securities, including XRP.

Paul Atkins served an advisory role for Reserve Rights (RSR), a cryptocurrency token that allowed users to create tokens backed by other tokenized assets on the blockchain.Â
Due to retail demand and greater institutional interests, an XRP ETF could be approved quickly once the SEC’s current case against Ripple has been settled or dismissed.
With a crypto-friendly SEC chair, we may see more altcoin tokens receiving their own ETFs in the future alongside popular picks.Â
