Ethereum soars in inflows during Bitcoin volatility

In recent weeks the cryptocurrency market has gone through volatility spikes with new local lows being filled.

Bitcoin fell to $95,341 over the weekend while Ethereum fell to $2,561, marking some of the lowest price points for each token, influenced by chaos in traditional markets.

Despite the volatility, institutions and whales have been buying up the fear with over $1 billion in inflows over the past week according to reports from CoinShares.

Bitcoin inflows witnessed $407 million in inflows alongside Ethereum’s $793 million, far surpassing that of BTC due to pressure put on the Ethereum ecosystem from investors.

Tweets from Eric Trump and BlackRock’s latest $500 million+ investment have contributed to Ethereum’s bullish inflows this week.

From CoinShares:

Recent price declines saw total assets under management in ETPs fall to US$163bn, down from its all-time-high set late January of US$181bn. Trading volumes for the week held steady at US$20bn.

ETFs, ETPs, and altcoin inflows boom

Surprisingly, ETPs are said to have made up 7.1% of the current market capitalization of Bitcoin’s inflows.

XRP witnessed $21 million alongside Solana’s $11.2 million, leading altcoins investments throughout the week.

BlackRock iShares ETF saw $602 million in inflows

BlackRock’s $500 million+ investment occurred over the course of 7 days, leading to more whales taking a dive into ETH. BlackRock’s investment came after bullish tweets from Eric Trump earlier last week.

Crypto investors may find the new inflows confusing in light of the market’s volatile price movements, leading to the downside. Over the last 24 hours, there have been signs of relief with Bitocin making a recovery above $98k.
