Ripple has sent 700 million XRP tokens in escrow, temporarily locking them away and making them untradable for a period of time.

Meanwhile, according to Novatti, Hedera (HBAR) has been chosen to host a new Australian stablecoin (AUDD) which is due to launch in Q3 2025.

According to Novatti, Ripple On-demand liquidity (ODL) testing has progressed to enhance the upcoming stablecoin’s cross-border transaction capabilities.

XRP and HBAR

On-chain transactions discovered by Whale Alert on Twitter/X prove Ripple has locked away 700 million XRP tokens in escrow for an unknown period of time.

Analysts believe the transaction was done to prevent further decline in XRP’s price as recent market volatilities shake both the crypto market and traditional markets.

Last week, Trump’s presidency introduced 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, causing both nations to retaliate with their own tariffs.

Markets reacted strongly and caused US stocks to drop including the Canadian dollar to fall to lows not seen since 2003.

Despite the chaos in the traditional markets, analysts have pointed out Bitcoin’s strength during current volatilities, outperforming top stocks.

By moving tokens into escrow, Ripple Labs may be manipulating the effects of recent sell-offs to stop the price of XRP from going below certain price points.

New reports on Hedera and Ripple use cases

For Hedera, Novatti, a leading digital payments firm, confirmed in their quarterly activities report that an Australian stablecoin, AUDD, will be launched first on Hedera Hashgraph. Alongside AUDD, Ripple cross-border payments will be tested with the new stablecoin.

Testing was completed for AUDD on Hedera, with live deployment expected in Q3 2025. Ripple On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) testing progressed, enhancing AUDD’s cross-border transaction capabilities.

Looking at the charts, both XRP and HBAR have been sent down to their previous resistance prices, which may soon be turned into new levels of support.
